Maratona dles Dolomites
Every July, one of Europe's most famous amateur cycling races takes place here. In recent years, over 9,000 participants from all over the world have regularly taken part. The route covers some of the most impressive Alpine passes in the Dolomites: Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Valparola and the short but steep Mür dl Giat. At 2,236 metres, the Passo Giau is the highest point of the race. This superbly organised event always takes place on a Sunday and is aimed at ambitious amateur cyclists. The race starts in La Villa in Alta Badia and finishes in Corvara. There are various routes to choose from, with different altitude profiles and levels of difficulty.
Sellaronda & Dolomites Bike Day
Twice a year, in June and September, the Sellaronda Bike Day thrills thousands of cycling enthusiasts from all over Europe. On this day, four Dolomite passes around the Sella massif are closed to motor traffic: the Gardena Pass, Sella Pass, Pordoi Pass and Campolongo Pass. You can join the tour directly in Corvara. At around 53 kilometres with over 1,600 metres of ascent, the route is challenging but manageable for experienced leisure cyclists. Anyone who enjoys cycling and wants to experience the Dolomites car-free will find this a real highlight. On Dolomites Bike Day, the Campolongo, Falzarego and Valparola Dolomite passes belong exclusively to cyclists from morning until early afternoon. Everyone can participate for free and enjoy the 51 km of traffic-free roads.

Alta Badia Ski Worldcup
Every December, one of the world's most prestigious ski races takes place on the Gran Risa slope in Alta Badia. The men's giant slalom is considered one of the most technically demanding races in the entire World Cup calendar. The course is steep, icy and narrow, and demands the utmost precision from the athletes. From Corvara, the race area in La Villa is easily accessible by ski bus, on skis or on foot. As a spectator, you can experience world-class skiing up close against the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomites. The Ski World Cup in Alta Badia is not only a major sporting event but also a special experience for guests who want to combine winter with excitement, emotion and genuine Alpine flair.
Sellaronda Ski Marathon
Once a year, usually at the end of March, teams of two embark on one of Europe's most demanding ski touring races. The route covers 42 kilometres and around 2,700 metres of ascent, spread over four Dolomite passes around the Sella massif. The starting location changes annually, and Corvara regularly features as either the start or finish point. Participants use only touring skis and their own muscle power. They ascend using skins and descend on unlit pistes by the light of their headlamps. For spectators, the race is a special experience as the athletes move like glowing threads through the nocturnal mountain world. The marathon is technically demanding, scenically unique, and a sporting highlight for physically strong ski mountaineers.
